Historically Sochi has always been a resort capital of Russia. Organization of Olympic Games in 2014 became a huge impulse for infrastructure development, increase of transport accessibility and growing of international attractiveness. The city is divided into four regions: Lazarevsky, Central, Khosta and Adler. It also includes mountain village of Krasnaya Polyana with a famous ski resort.
Sochi hosts approximately 200 major events annually, including mega-events in sports, cultural, political and business spheres – Formula 1, FIFA World Cup, singing competition “New wave”, film festival “Kinotavr”, Russian Investment Forum etc. And in 2018, Sochi received 6 matches of the FIFA World Cup 2018, which took place at the Olympic stadium “Fisht”.
The city presents all types of tourism from gastronomic to extreme. Weekends can be spent on the Black Sea coast or breathing in the refreshing mountain air and admiring the snow-covered views of the mountains of Krasnaya Polyana, skiing or snowboarding.
